New look through the window 窗內窗外之作

I've the tiny studio close to the nature.   Through the window and the door I find more creative being there.  This is the sanctuary where I showcase my works of the recent 10 years from ceramics, wool works to natural prints.
In the rural New Territories surrounded by plantation.....
My window curtain first printed in Israel in Betty's house with the wild yellow flowers then back to Hong Kong I printed with the lemmon marigolds leaves picked nearby.  This means lots to me for the good memory with Betty this spring.

Almost everything in the studio recalls my wonderful times with friends. Prints of cushion and runner done in Ireland in Nicola's house, Wool felt rugs made in Portugal in Nicola's workshop. Ceramics done in Hong Kong Pottery Stall....
Fabulous time in Spain with the ladies to design own garment textile

Mixed media ceramic/paverpol and nuno felt dolls learnt from Sharon in Canada.  Fabric prints with leaves from the studio neighbor.
Natural prints hanging just done in Holland this June. Wool felt hanging with Mogi's hair.  Wool felt teapot learnt in Ohio in Pamela's studio and the blue felted bottle coat done with mum three years ago.   The 3D wool felt vessels with nature inspired.......
My nuno felt garments learnt from Vilte Kazlauskaite in Holland......
Picture of Provence taken with Brigitte....
all those are only part of my works in this little sanctuary.
Here's the outside look......
a path leading to the house.....
how can I resist not to try the leaves?  The farmer is so kind to give me lots of his produces whenever I visit.

He gave me the okra I made green salad. The okra is so fresh to attract the little creature.  I picked the big taro leaves for my prints.
fresh picked fruit.....
and the neighbor gave me pomegranate  and guava .  The leaves are good prints

I use the big leaves of taro and papaya as resist instead of plastic film
the bundle with lots of oxalis, okra leaves and hisbicus ....
wondering how the leaves work as resist?  show you next.....
Grab a bread, coffee time with the fresh langan fruit, sweet corn and okra from the farmer.  That's my country life.  I'm pleased to have the space to do some more outdoor nature related creation.

ZZzzzzzzzz Mogi's dreaming a pretty lady.....貓咪夢境被著一身紅

This is a dream from my cat Mogi.......
"Mum's tired of all those botanical prints.  She's done lots of experiments and lots of scraps in the stash.   This one printed with euc silver dollar is quite strong crimson for my wrap.......
貓咪  Mogi 被著一身我的植物印染,  說著夢話, 幻想著自己是紅豔女神, 舞動紅裙進出我在赤柱的工作室灘頭.......

"I'm comfy with the soft turmeric dyed silk bed sheet and dreaming I'm a pretty lady in red going to mum's studio in Stanley where I've never been visited.....

"I'm in a gorgeous red nuno felt gown made with the euc silver dollar prints, I  walked to the waterfront in the morning.......
"Then to the sand bay in a few minutes walk.......
"Cool in a crispy fall...... listening to the echo of waves.......
"I'm in a crimson style dress......
"I find myself a super model.........

"My front and back........ walking in the beach......
"Back to mum's studio.... in the front of her painting......
"Mum has lots of her own made mixed media dolls.    Among are a few but I'm the new one and the biggest she loves most.......

"Oh well.......   woke up stretching .......  I found myself was only in a dream....... but I can sneak the making of the red lady......."
The body was made with paverpol - textile hardener for sculpture making, (last post) then made a nuno felt dress to put on the body.
Formerly the dolls are made with ceramic, then paper clay, now the paverpol..... which can be bigger and bigger.  This red one is 1/4 size of a real human.   I sincerely thank to my friend Sharon G. who was so generous to show me the making while I was in Canada last Nov.  Making this sort of textile sculpture is interesting.   I like to modify the making by putting on my eco printed and nuno felted garment which has a soft and stylish movement.

"Flamenco dancer" making

Hand clapping, percussive footwork and complex hand and body movements are what make Flamenco a difficult but impressive art form. I do not dance but keen on making mixed media figurine with nuno felt costumes.
How to make it? See the observant guy..... he's telling it......

Mogi, "wondering what mum's up to.  She always said it's none of my business. I'm quite curious........"

Dipped the cotton stripes in Paverpol liquid, wrapped around the skeleton

Intended to make it a dark beauty but found the face has stains, thus painted it in white aclyric

Dried overnight.  Made the outfits with the "not-so-good" euc leaves printed silk chiffon by nuno felt.
Made a nuno felt top with merino wool.

Fit into the body

Cut another two pieces of silk chiffon of the table dress shape and do the nuno felt.

Done the dress and put into the body

Wrapped the glass bottle with same fabric as stand

Mogi, "well, mum made it......"

Mogi, " I'm always the one behind a woman ........"

Ya, Flamenco dancer in nuno felt dress that has the rich textures and layers.

Ready to dance with the rhythm of the wave

My heartfelt thanks to Sharon Gerhart who's so generous to introduce me the making of Paverpol I then further develop it with nuno felt.
More poses of the figurine here .
