Work-life balance to make a scarf 秋日圍巾製作

 Other than bustle and hustle, work-life balance is what we needed.  Colleagues are interested in nuno felt, I'm most happy to give a free class.  This weekend they made these nuno felt scarves with the stunning view outside.
營營役役每天工作, 生活也該作些平衡, 是日與幾位同事分享製作nuno felt 的樂趣, 他們自己獨特的圍巾該是今秋可弦耀的手作.

Our office is in remote territories with brilliant views.  I've seen dophines once !!

 First I taught them to make running stitches of flowers with my own dyed silk scraps.

Put the flowers on the silk base with merino wool.  This made the textural effect afterwards.

 After rolling and rubbing.....

 Peeled off to make the ruffles on the back.

 Flower closure to go with the scarf.  A set is done.

週末兩天與「香港知專設計學院」主辦的混絲戟絨工作坊完滿結束， 充滿熱誠學習的同學很有創意地製作了漂亮獨特以羊毛混絲的雪紡圍巾與飄逸夏衣，同類的工作坊在香港稀有舉辦， 可能香港人對羊毛工藝可以設計四季時尚衣飾未普及，希望透過工作坊讓多些人認識羊毛這可塑性甚高的工藝.。

After a midnight storm, a sunny morning started my weekend nuno felt workshop in the Hong Kong Design Institute.

Below are all the works done by the talented students.    

Wool felt is not only for cold season but also good for summer. With little wool we can do a light summer top.  To enhance it with the nuno felt textural surface is the highlight of the workshop. 

This is colorful with the feather-like. 

I provided all my eco printed fabrics just to make sure they will not "breeding" and they're "OOAK".

What made the design "OOAK" are the creative students themselves indeed. 

They're talented and aggressive even made all these beautiful pieces in the first  practice session.

What also impressed the students were the eco printing and the seamless raw fleece vest of nuno felt. Yes, for myself I'm also addicted to eco printing and wool felt inspired by others.  Hope to inspire creativity in the area.

Crimson shawl 被著緋紅

Our company held the annual dinner in the Disneyland Hotel last Fri. Dress code was red or blue. A month ago I made the nuno felt shawl to meet the theme.

為了設合公司周年晚宴的主題"紅/ 藍"服飾, 我早前特地做了這件緋紅色的nuno felt被肩.
I used chiffon as the base and laid the merino wool, mulberry silk and crinkle chiffon as flower. Done by wet felt skill.

After all the "rock n roll", here's the piece.

I'm not sure if it looks "vulgar"?!我對這紅色有點猶疑, 好像有些"娘". I intended to go with a jean for the annual dinner. It's normally aceptable on Friday night.

Well before the event I was informed I'll be awarded for long service and invited to be on stage. I changed mind to go with a skirt.





後來我知道要上台接受長期服務獎, 所以改了穿上裙子, 被在肩上.

如果圍以頸巾又穿上皮外套, 看似"擁腫".

I left the scarf out when I was on the stage. 我還是棄掉圍巾, 就此上台.

We're among the colleagues receiving long service awards. 我們這些服務經年的同事大合照. More than 800 staff members joined the dinner. All were in high spirit for the talent show.

超過800多名員工為天才表演同事打氣, 熱情高漲. Can't imagine I've been with the company for ages.... How many years? 35 years! My days were happy and crimson.
Anticipate to retire anythime and to pursuit my interest.

Life is contented. Can't complain.

Cheer me up 耀目的色彩

It's a gloomy day here with forecast of rainy weekend. Too bad. To cheer me up looking at this bright color. My students done the pretty wool felt scarves days before. This one is eye catching and goes well with dark clothing. It also reminds me daffodils.

今日天色灰暗, 陰霾密佈, 天氣預告周未還會下雨, 在這使人懊惱的日子, 給我耀目的色彩. 日前學生做了羊毛頸巾, 這一款特別鮮明, 也另 我想起去年四月在荷蘭學羊毛工藝時, 沿河踏單車所見的燦爛水仙花.

Last April when I was in Frisland for the nuno felt workshop, I took a day to cycle along the river bank and saw these pretty daffodils. Missing my days !
This Monday evening four students joined my wool felt scarf workshop. They made it leisurely. Each done different color and style.
