"Good shades..... Yes, mum wanted to make shades, but color of leaves."
Intended to make shades of leaves, I used different steps of iron mordant and different sorts of leaves. Some leaves dipped in iron water, some without. So I got the outcome like this.
The more iron the leaves got, the darker they're.
The round silver eucalyptus cinerea is of typical reddish. A little of it makes the pattern bright.
Rose leaves are rich in tannin and love iron thus prints are bold.
The dried oak leave is clear.
Outlines of rose leaves
Another sort of euc leaves.
Big or small rose leaves are good for prints. They make vivid marks.
Comparison of before and after
Still in the stage of experiments so I only made small pieces on gorgette silk.
Soft it is, of color and material.
Terrie, you definitely got the style of your own!
