 "Mogi, what are you expecting? "

"I've a dream, I want to travel, I want to spread, I want to share my passion!"

These days weather was not good.  Sometimes thunder storms sometimes showers.  Whenever possible I like to do biking, not only for exercise but also for my creation experiments.  Seasonal plants yell different outcome.  Now is May but I can't find the flowers I used to do last year.  Anyway I'd like to try any sorts.

法國五月，好浪漫的情懷！這個五月香港天氣陰晴不定，這日趁無雨又去郊外踩車，為的是尋找那些葡萄葉，踏在小路上左右的植物盡是我的獵物，抬頭一看那晶透欲滴如翡翠的葡萄，園主我不會偷摘，請給我採4片葉子好了。為的就是繼續圓我的夢，拈來路過明友家及農莊植物一小把，出城與我年輕時同學Heidi茶聚，正巧商埸庭園佈置主題「小法國」，我兩不期然懷念那年同遊南法普羅旺斯居在山城Brigitte 家中，我也正正在這夏再訪法國波爾多酒區交流創作，因此必然要與南法好友 Brigitte 共聚。

回到家裡晚上急不及待做了實驗，Mogi 踏上掌印！通過合格測試，然仍有很多待續，下周有海外學生來上課，備課是應有的態度。 

On the day rain stopped I was biking in the rural

 just a mile away from my rural studio, the traditional village houses

 then crossed over the footbridge

 

I'm heading to the mountain foot

 I'm in a leisure ride but inserts are busy for their life on the melon flower

 butterfly is too tired, taking a break

 

Onward and onward along the path .......got some leaves 

 

fishing ponds in the village form the beautiful tranquility

 indeed the grapes leaves are my aim to pick.  a fruitful season is expected

 next to the fence of the grapes are eucualyptus.  not to miss it I picked some

 

also blooming overhead are these flowers.  I'm not sure the name.

 

It's only a short ride this morning as I've lunch appointment with my salad days mate Heidi.

 

We known each other since in teenage.  Though not seen quite often we miss each other a lot.  Our lunch was in a mall where just themed "La petitte France" .  We both have a passion about France and have been together to Provence some years ago.  Amid this flowery mall we took some shots and reminisced our good days in Brigitte's house and the fruitful grapes overhead when the balcony door opened.

 

After the afternoon chat I have to call it a day and back home to do my experiments..........

 hibisus, lemon grass, sugar cane leaf, vegetable flowers, passion fruit leaf, eucalyptus, quisqualis indica.....

 I tried prints with clear background and some with shades

 

I'm happy with the experiments but still lots to test as I will have teaching in the coming days. 

 

 Hey boy, what do you think? He's my approver.  With his paws on that means I'm passed.

 "What are you looking forward to?

 

He said he's happy with his life but mum just wants to spread and lots in her plate.  Mum's going to France for the interaction in summer and friends reunion.

 

Yes, I'm off to France, to the wine-growing region and Provence.  Hope to pick some grapes when I head up.

New look through the window 窗內窗外之作

，

I've the tiny studio close to the nature.   Through the window and the door I find more creative being there.  This is the sanctuary where I showcase my works of the recent 10 years from ceramics, wool works to natural prints.

窗內窗外滿景色.....我的郊野小天地收藏了少許近十年興趣製作，從陶瓷、羊毛氈工藝至植物印染，製品不算精緻但每件都盛載著美麗回憶，有學習的過程有濃情厚意的交誼。在這小天地探訪鄰居農夫，他們總是盛意送我滿滿的自耕作物，我也拿回一大把的葉片做實驗，好喜歡這郊野工作室，日後也許會更有創意！

 

In the rural New Territories surrounded by plantation.....

My window curtain first printed in Israel in Betty's house with the wild yellow flowers then back to Hong Kong I printed with the lemmon marigolds leaves picked nearby.  This means lots to me for the good memory with Betty this spring.

  

 

Almost everything in the studio recalls my wonderful times with friends. Prints of cushion and runner done in Ireland in Nicola's house, Wool felt rugs made in Portugal in Nicola's workshop. Ceramics done in Hong Kong Pottery Stall....

Fabulous time in Spain with the ladies to design own garment textile

Mixed media ceramic/paverpol and nuno felt dolls learnt from Sharon in Canada.  Fabric prints with leaves from the studio neighbor.

Natural prints hanging just done in Holland this June. Wool felt hanging with Mogi's hair.  Wool felt teapot learnt in Ohio in Pamela's studio and the blue felted bottle coat done with mum three years ago.   The 3D wool felt vessels with nature inspired.......

all those are only part of my works in this little sanctuary.

how can I resist not to try the leaves?  The farmer is so kind to give me lots of his produces whenever I visit.

  He gave me the okra I made green salad. The okra is so fresh to attract the little creature.  I picked the big taro leaves for my prints.

and the neighbor gave me pomegranate  and guava .  The leaves are good prints

 I use the big leaves of taro and papaya as resist instead of plastic film

the bundle with lots of oxalis, okra leaves and hisbicus ....

Grab a bread, coffee time with the fresh langan fruit, sweet corn and okra from the farmer.  That's my country life.  I'm pleased to have the space to do some more outdoor nature related creation.

Ethnic Costume from nature 鄉土服製作靈感

 

In order to find some leaves for my project of ethnic costume with Heritage Museum, I gathered some plants for the fabric prints. The fisherman costume made with plants prints and indigo designed with modern touch.   

近日為博物館的 鄉土服飾設計四出撿拾葉子製作，時而踩著單車輕鬆的沿吐露港踏至大美督，這周六與幹勁十足的隊午踩上40多公里的新界北，錦田至天水圍，穿過大道，村莊小巷，好一個文物古蹟遊。隨身心收獲，每次總會撿拾幾片葉子實驗，寓創新於運動。

 I still wanted to do a few more of the series,  these days I went with a bike along the coastal to pick some windfalls........

 

 

I enjoy being alone for biking. Stop to pick some windfalls and admire the views whenever I like. 

 

Our undulating mountains are stunning. Weekdays are quiet and less traffic.

 It's a cloudy day in the morning.

  Unfortunately in the afternoon it's pouring.  I couldn't make my way back and have to hire a van back to the bike station.

 Recently I joined a team riding on Saturdays.  A dynamic team mostly riding in the New Territories.

We're a team not only for the physical exercise but also a cultural riding.  We passed by the fields and twisted roads.

The team is well equipped. Even got a flat tire they can fix it immediately

 

 I like to follow the team as they well care each other

 While the team was fixing the tyre I got some plants on the road side. A "hat-full" leaves for my experiments.

Almost every time after biking I got some plants. These were edible from Estella.   Prints with technique learnt from Irit Dulman.  Detail of the prints already made into garment.
