It's a vacation

My vacation the first part in England was perfect with beautiful weather, lovely friends and tranquility. Cycling in the sun........

Nature walk in the marsh with high school mate.....

With the neighbor cat under the pear tree watching us....
Doing wool felt vest with sweetie
Tiffany laid the raw fleece to make her wooly vest
With the little helping hands she made the two-sided reversible vest, one side of Eco printed silk and the other of wild curly Teeswater, Wenslaydale, Romney and other unknown fleece.
Absolutely talented little girl made her own reversible vest with me in 3 hours.

Tiffany you made it !  Put on it and let's model it. All in a natural look.

Gorgeous sweetie in her wild fleece vest. She's quite pleased with her work and I'm proud of her talent.
Cycling, walking or wool felting all are such leisure activities. Not to miss the stunning view in town. This year the Tower of London is spilling with tens and thousands of ceramic poppies marking the centenary of World War I - "Blood Swept Lands and Seas of Red". Installation is on going till 888,246 in Nov. Each poppy in honor of the soldiers killed in the war.

The stunning and emotional view of wash of red

High street shopping is not my cup of tea. A walk to Portobello market on Sat is more than enough to browse the vintage stuff and food.

The night I arrived in London a few days ago was pretty good. Leaving for Tuscany tonight for another adventure. Wish the same good weather when I back again in nine days.

See you again black magic.

Well wrapped for my North America trip

Walk walk walk my way....... Upswing for my NA trip. Aware the chilly and snowing days.  I'm well prepared to wrap from head to toe.
I bought the boots.  Thought it's good to have a style to go with leg warmers

A pair of leg warmers made with sorts of wool,  Oh, I can't remember what sorts.  Some finn, some alpaca, some wenslaydale..... They're lovely wool from my Dutch friend Kim.  I love the wool so much and have already made a few vests and bags.   "Wild", just like the curly wild style.
Here's the boots with leg warmers
It's done by nuno felt.
I simply used my "not so good" natural dyed silk fabric as base, laid wool over it, then the wild curly fleece.  All covered and rubbed, rolled for a while.  A pair is  finished.

Go wild with vest......
Warm enough we both.  I'm off this Sun,  thrilled for my upcoming workshop to share with like-minded and meeting renowned artists whom I admire so much.......

My first nuno felt garment student 我的第一位nuno felt 背心學生

Making wool felt garment is not that simple.  Quite technical to do the right size, not to mention to teach students to make for their own.
Truly the cost of tutorial is quite steep. I have never offered to give a class.
Today my student WW has the honor (I'm too arrogant !!??) to follow me.
WW is interested so my pleasure to teach her individually in my yard.

We used the Wensleydale and Gotland fleece. I love the smell of raw fleece.
 Almost finished the fleece layering
 Wet it
 Quality control by Mogi
Rock and roll for hundreds times.....

 Finished -  front look
 Back look
 Reverse side - front look

 A reversible vest is done
 Steps of making
 WW, have a warm winter
I hope it's not too tired for a 5-hour making a vest.
Thanks WW for coming and well done.

Reversible raw fleece vest

Fall is around.  Feeling well and felting good.  During the 4-day long weekend, I made two vests with raw fleece.
This short one is reversible.  I used the nuno felt skill so in between is a chiffon that's a nice way to do the seamless wearable.  One side is mainly of Finn fleece and Wensleydale fleece. More textural, wild and curly locks I love most.
The other side is of merino wool,  colar with curly locks.
Could be a warm vest with curly locks.
Steps of making : First layered merino wool on both sides, then the  Finn and Wenslaydale fleece.
Since the raw fleece are quite muddy and the wool needs lots of water, I have to do this in the open yard.
Mogi examinated my layering.  He's a great helper !

After the "rock n roll" for sometime, it's done.
A pin of ceramic sheep is a good match.
 Hmmmmm, my laptop.....
Am I too slim or Mogi is huge ?!
 This fluffy is warm enough.
 What so yummy?
Two vests made, one is large size and mine is small.

Love this one, reversible with two looks.
