Lonely Planet 大地紅心

Lonely heart ?  No, not alone......

You said you're beside me on my travels.
The two silhouettes are meeting and hope will meet in person one day.  You know who you are!

Mogi said, " just wish I could meet this pretty soul !"
Mum said, " I do wish to meet her mum too !"
Well, back home back to our country side.  The past Friday I went with the group for the Friday hiking on Lantau
 Villages in the lush
You said you love and bold with pine cones.  When I saw the pines I picked a little for eco prints.
Trail up and down to the sea side
The beach lined with casaurina but too high to reach the cones
I picked a few pieces of leafs to cut the silhouette, even tried on banana leaf
Laid on flannel fabric and boiled for 2 hours
Pines and euc are bold with iron mordant
Cat & dog meeting in Tuscany
Planet with a big heart and many small hearts.  I'm not lonely

Just pines and two sorts of euc to make this "Warm Hearted" print

Violet Rose and Mogi virtual meet

They meet on the flannel which I may do something with to make it practical.
Thanks friends for following me. My Facebook page reached 600 that's encouraging for me as a little woman who can share and  travel to meet the like-minded.

Summer scarfs 夏日圍巾

It's been pouring for the week. Just a day with a beam, I took the moment for the shots of the recent scarfs made with botanical imprints and dyes.  Though it's summer, here in Hong Kong air-con in the malls or in the office a scarf is always needed.
This two-sided scarf I printed with eucalyptus, pines (casaurina) and Lagerstroemia indica on the silk jersey.  Intended to do it delicacy with only a few strokes.
While the other side is a pure silk chiffon I dyed in turmeric pot then wrapped with rusty iron pipe to have the dark shades.  I sewed two pieces together.

Here came the unique double printed scarf of two different materials.
Another silk scarf (or wrap) I  printed with pines (casaurina) with a few eucalyptus to bring out spots of orange.  It's bundle boiled in turmeric pot  and intended to have the other end with turmeric yellow.

I cut the neckline in the middle.  So this scarf is multi-styles, just slip in and tie with the merino flower brooch (with loop), or just wrap around the neck or put on shoulders.

Simply a stylish scarf in summer breeze.
Both are on my ETSY  Double-side Silk Jersey  Summer scarf

Pine and Bottle Brush prints 針松與串錢柳印染

Last year I tried the bottle brush (Callistemon Viminalis 串錢柳)on silk, it gives purple. I was wondering how it looks on boiled wool.  The day before I done a piece but not quiet nice and I've to remake with brighter euc leaves.
去年做了串錢柳印在𢇁料上有明顯粉紫色,日前嘗試印在呢絨上,但效果不什清晰,後加上一兩片按樹葉帶出一點橙色後,總算有些看頭。

This is how it looks after I put a few orange euc.  The background purple is the bottle brush shade only.

I made three groups on a boiled wool with the leaves picked on the day I strolled along the river.

Already April, it's still spring here in Hong Kong.  Sprouts with vivid colours.
Me, busy as the egret, looking for something...... walked and walked......

Spring - carpet of flowers, refreshed my sights.

Finally found the bottle brush.  I picked a few home.
Before and after pictures comparison.
The top picture,  three groups of leaves, all are with casaurina, the left one with bottle brush, others without but with a marigold.  After an hour boiling, the outcome was not very good, I then put the euc to bring out some color.
The "before and after" of the one with bottle brush.  The final added euc got a bit orange color.

So I found that bottle brush is no good on wool but only on silk.
Quite rich patterns with Casaurina and euc. Casaurina on boiled wool is my fav so far.
