Two-hole piece multi-styled wearable 簡易百搭被肩背心

Following my last post of a two-armhole scarf, I'm really into the simple making with nuno felt and made a few.
A flat sheet of fabric with little wool fleece......
天氣漸涼, 絲巾加點羊毛, 不太 "沉重", 開兩個洞成為百搭被肩背心, 這幾件是近日的製作, 不同布料的效果, 都是輕巧飄逸.
I turned it into a vest of styles - bottom with texture raw fleece
Turn it upside down, a collar with wool
The bottom of the back with wool fleece, the front is a soft draping
This is not my design.  There're many styles of two-hole scarf wearable but it just hit my bell to do the nuno felt, simply without thread or needle and warm in the cool days.
For the sample of this style I used the ready made viscose long scarf. (38" x 72")  I cut off the corners to make it round, cut the arm holes then sealed with merino wool, the bottom part laid some Teeswater fleece and merino wool, all the round edge sealed with wool.  That's it.

I've made a few pieces with different patterns as giveaways for good friends.

This black & white of branches & birds.  Airy and light I like most.
 The back look
The front with a tie knot simply an outfit
 A scarf wrap around

This piece is more fall theme of yellow with tree branches

Also multi-styles - back & front .   Tied with a wool felt brooch simply an outfit
This gorgette silk I printed with euc and Lagerstroemia Indica (紫薇) collected in my area
 Palette of autumn leaves
I walked in the area where I picked this Lagerstroemia Indica leaves
I also made it into a nuno felt scarf / vest

Well, these are the simple nuno felt wearable recently made. Still keen on experimenting different eco prints
With the scraps cut from the scarfs, I played with textural surface and 3D making.  This object just done. Mogi is very curious about it.  What's it? Stay tuned, will post details next.

Students' wool felt handbag 學生羊毛手袋製作

"Yes, this is mine. I made it !" My student Ahbee proudly showed us this after a hard day work !
又一次與Pottery Stall 缸瓦舖合作, 這日教學生做羊毛手袋 ,
今次重點製作手挽及雪訪摺皺的質感, 差不多七小時....... 累了, 終完成各有自己特式的手袋.
Teamed up with Pottery Stall, a nuno felt handbag workshop was arranged this Sunday. A class focused on nuno felt textural surface and handle making which took quite some hours to finish.
Layering wool......
Put on silk chiffon and mulberry silk......

Rolling......
Cut the top....

Making the firm handles....

Almost exhausted.... they made it... both sides of own preferred different looks.
A little Teeswater fleece
Teeswater fleece and chiffon scrap
With my eco printed chiffon scraps
Mixed mulberry silk and raw fleece
Mulberry silk and raw fleece
Again some Mulberry silk, my dyed Teeswater fleece and eco print chiffon
After almost 7 hours, bags finished, still wet and heavy.   A hard day exercise !
They enjoyed it though a bit tired.

I'm sure after dry the silk strings are lustrous and the ruffly chiffon are nice.
Well done gals.

Pace of life 生活步伐

Spring has sprung.
Can't believe, it's April.  Time flies so fast!  Since quitted from work, my pace of life seems going too fast.  My plate is full.  I wanted to do this to do that...... Today's the last day of Easter holiday (everyday is my holiday), I made a sample wool felt handbag for my upcoming workshop.
I like to put the chiffon base then laid wool over it.
With one side of little Teeswater for textural surface, the other side of nuno felt flower.

Early in the morning I went to the bay near my studio to take some images.
Tide rip seems gentle
Rest on the rock
Breath the sea breeze....
Frankly I scare of sea, shame that I do not swim.  Looks as if sea roaring....  There was nobody.
After a few pictures I rushed and passed by the park.
Wild daisy on the path.
Pace of life should be slow...... would it be a burden for the snail's whole life?  A little snail I carefully not to step on.

Snake?  Yes, I've seen a 4 ft long snake in the park.  Nature is of wild life, tame or not we should keep pace with.
