Custom order botanical imprinted fabric 特定的植物印染布料

My very sweet client Dawn of Arizona is very supportive to my works. I'm so so blessed to have such a nice lady who has already ordered from me some items. She loves my eco prints and asked if I can make a big curtain  (4 yds) of autumn leaves with red, yellow, khaki, brown, rust  whatever as I usually make for her kitchen..  Honestly I'm not keen to do custom orders as it's quite challenging but Dawn leaves it with me. I said I try to do it into each 2 yds, if it's not up to taste, no worries I can make use of it for other purposes.

So. these days I gathered some windfalls and bought euc silver dollar and rose leave.
With a sketch I put it "fallen leaves on the ground"........ rose leaves, maple, Loropetalum, casaurina, mandarin leaves, euc silver dollar and assorted windfalls on georgette silk...
Casaurina with "nuts" are quite nice prints
Fallen leaves on the ground.......

 Are they ready to ship?

My signature art book no. 2 我的 "特色"小本子

Another botanical imprinted art book for a special friend. Leaves are mainly maple, assorted euc and melaleuca quinquenenia (白千層樹).  I intended to make it a bit fun with cat shapes cut from leaves.

Front cover with maple leaf
Khaki is the color tone, paper prints are mainly of dark outlines.
In between I inserted the silk fabric of botanical imprints.
The silk fabric is printed with rose leaves, maple and the euc silver dollar to bring some bright color.
A few pages with melaleuca quinquenmervia
I put the silk prints next to the paper prints.  An art book of five signatures with silk fabrics and 8 pages of 2-folded, i.e. 80 single pages or 160 front & back pages.

A cat - looking forward to the new home.....

The nuno felt cover with my self botanical printed silk
Tied with self made ceramic button
A custom order for a special friend .

The book cover is made with my botanical prints with pines and leaves collected in my area.  I made the mirror prints.  One side for the art book.  The other for a nuno felt handbag.

Making something unique is my way of creation
These two art books will be on the way cross the ocean to the States
Thank you for Dawn's support to my work.

Eco printed autumn themed scarfs 秋意盎然植物印染絲巾

We're into hot summer but a light scarf is still a fashion accessory in air-con office. To have a crispy summer day, I made the fall themed scarfs with mixed colors.
The two scarfs,  above and below of different patterns.

This one with few strokes of pine prints as tree branches and a few rose leaves,  some eucalyptus cinerea for the bright orange / reddish.

The "before and after" of leaves laying - casaurina pines, assorted euc, rose leaves and maples
Shades of color are due to iron mordant and assorted euc.
After 1.5 hours boiling came the bold prints
"Hearts" of euc cinerea

 Rose leaves with iron mordant
Rose leaf without direct iron mordant but "immersed" by the nearby leaves.
 Maple leaves with iron mordant
Silk scarf with mixed windfalls
Quite some people asked me about eco printing, lots enquiries from local, Argentina, Chile, US......even Uruguay.  Well, I'm happy to share with like-minded.

If you're the first time to make a silk scarf with this prints without any mordant, are you happy?  That's done by my student's first time under my guidance.

For beginners if they can do prints of orange / reddish shades from eucalyptus with simple process I suppose would be pleased. Some people said that they'd never got bright color, sharp prints, dark shades...... I said eco printing is quite regionalism.  Plants, water, soil, temperature, process and methods of making are factors of outcome.  Here in Hong Kong I rarely have purple, blue or yellow direct prints from leaves.or flowers.

With more experiments I can make shades.  Mogi is happy in the shade!
