Days in Europe - on the go......歐洲行腳繼續上路

Now in the mid of my travels in Europe. I enjoy every moment being a solo traveller while 

sometimes with friends.  I'm not a sort of label shopper, I like strolling, walking, meeting friends, chatting..... sitting in the cafe for two hours.......... This is Martinus coffee campus in Bratislava, Slovakia - a book cafe I've been there for four times in a week.  Bratislava is the hub of my travels in Europe this time. A few hours later I'm leaving for Salzburg and Hallstatt for another leisure exploration. My friend said "did you say you're going for interaction or teaching this time, sounds more than a pleasant travel!".  I said yes, I've 3 purposes of this trip - sight seeing, interaction of my skills and attending workshop in Holland.

此行來到歐洲，「他他條條」的，香港朋友問我不是説去「教人」嗎? 看似去玩多些！ 我説是「交流」! 是唷，看我前些網誌不是已提及了? 不過更主要目的是本周末去荷蘭參加的一個課程，未開課前順道在隣國走走，斯洛伐克是我的中途駐站，在斯洛伐克友人家中我有更多日子所以又教了她做了這帽子給她女兒。

Yes, interaction for me is a kind of teaching. During this trip I shared with my friends natural printing and wool felting techniques. This is the recent one I done with my friend Zeinad in Bratislava - a wool felt hat with 3D textural flowers for her daughter Layla.

I layered wool with enclosed resist, then put my own eco printed silk chiffon as surface texture. 

The ruffled textures are dyed scraps of silk chiffon with eucalyptus and logwood.

That will be a warm hat for the sweetie in the long cold days in Europe

 

Martinus book cafe will again be my spot after Salzburg ......  back soon for the rich chocolate.

Days in Europe - Bratislava fun exploration 悠悠歐洲假期

My second day in Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia was a brilliant start of my holiday with beautiful skies, sunny and cool.  During the weekend, my friends - the nice hosts took me to the Old Town, the highly interesting Central European locality for its history, architecture, culture and arts.

我在歐洲的假期悠悠閒的與斯洛伐克東道主友人逛逛舊城，走上山林， 在家中與小女孩製作羊毛氈，這祇是假期剛開始的活動，來日會探索多瑙河隣近城鎮的風貌。

We explored through the gates.....

Bratislava is 8,696 km from my city Hong Kong

Though it's April, spring in Europe, tree branches of bare leaves are simply a nice backdrop of the town.

We strolled along the markets, souvenirs shops and gifts stalls.....

All the pretty little things are impressive

The artist's so nice for a chat with us. 

After a walk, we stopped in a spacious book cafe. Enjoyed so much the rich hot chocolate.

Then our steps forwarded to the hill - Koliba, where the TV tower located and a site for sorts of outdoor activities.

It's Sunday, a day for grocery shopping.  Sweetie showed me how to do the self shopping.

Holiday for spots exploration, also fun for the wool felt making. I showed Layla and her mum Zeinab the making of nuno felt dress and a 3D treasure box.

With the little hands making, a box of textural lid and nuno felted dress are made.

Sweetie's favourite colors are blue, turquoise, purple........

So what she made these days are all in those color tones, no matter a hair band, a dress or a box.

Bratislava is a town with fascinating sites of culture, architecture, history and gorgeous scenery. Surely I will explore in the coming days along the Danube River.........

Days in Europe - Vienna to Bratislava (Slovakia) 維也納到斯洛伐克

Since my flight arrived midnight I stayed a night in Vienna before heading to Bratislava (Slovakia). In the early morning I strolled along the area I stayed. Crisp spring with sun ray. Already busy traffic in the skies and land.

My hotel location is perfect in the West and close to Underground and train station. Vienna is only an hour train ride to Bratislava. I will come again to explore more the city during my days in Bratislava.

After a walk in Vienna, I took the train to Bratislava.

Stepped in the guest room already impressive with the stunning sunset through the window.

This  little town I will spend my leisure time and enjoy my moment with the sweet hosts.

Layla is so gorgeous and talented.  After super, she made the beautiful nuno felted hair band with my guide in 30 min.

Sweetie, you're gorgeous ! We will explore the versatility of wool felt to make wearable art! Thank you for bringing me here in Slovakia. I will also explore the country and the nearby cities in the coming two weeks.

Set of elegance

 自上一網誌展示羊毛混絲雪紡裙子, 我收到查詢有關教學, 甚至海外的安排, 因此做了兩件製作, 一小孩一成人的樣品, 我隣家小女孩 Layla還有幾天便離港, 今日趁天氣良好邀請她再為我展現製作, 看她........活潑跳脫, 時而優雅, 太可愛了 !

 

 Since my last post of a girl nuno felt dress, I got some inquiries for teaching.  Before arrangements I made two more styles, one for a girl and one for adult.  Grasped the days before my sweet neighbor Layla leaving for good, I asked her favour to demo.  I also made a head band for the match.  She's gorgeous and showed it vividly and elegantly!

 The white one is dress for a girl of 7 , the grey one behind is adult's tunic.  Both made with nuno felt skills, seamless with sewing with 3D textural surface.

 They're made with chiffon base, silk gauze, merino wool. mulberry silk and my own indigo dyed ramie.

The style is light and airy in summer.

 See..... the gorgeous..... she shows it vividly .....

 

 

 

 Without any instructions from me, a potential model of tomorrow demo so well my piece with her own poses. 

 

 Two pieces, one for a girl of 7, the same style, same technique, just enlarge the proportion to make for adult, no matter for a  7, 37 or 47...... style goes well.
