Botanical printing workshop

Here’s my recent workshop for basic color and monochromatic tone for a group of students in Hong Kong Polytechnic University.  With simple mordant of alum, iron and tannin they printed on silk and cellulose fabrics. The two sessions they made impressive printings.

In the well equipped workshop we started to print color tone mostly of assorted eucalyptus, onion skins, lemmon marigolds, rose leaf and grevillea.

First log of bundles with shades of iron covered blanket
That's the different layouts of the first session.  They’re happy with it.
The second session is mainly for the academics / designers to work on cellulose fabrics and of mono tone.  As most of their printings are for the design of exhibition so just sneak peek a few pieces of their works.

They're working hard for their printings and all done in sustainable and eco manner. Until next time they will make it for exhibition,  I hope to have the chance to view show the exhibits.
