Another day María took me to one of the
most beautiful villages in Italy - Bobbio

The landmark - bridge in Bobbio

Portovenere - a port in the north Italy

It's a scenic harbour old town with castles, walking alleys and nice to explore on foot.

Train ride to Cinque Terre is wonderful.  The old fishing villages with colorful houses and clear water.

Twisted stairways up to the tower

It's a beautiful village. I like most is Riomaggiore and Manarola
I managed to bike in the scenic countryside too.

Fall in Italy is pleasant and crisp. Awesome friends and lots to see, to interact and to feel.
Love Italy ! Love Marisa and all friends I met during this trip !

Italy trip of botanical printing workshop 1

My trip to Italy was fruitful and colourful.

Arriving Milan on a sunny day and received by host Marisa Tacchi of AttivArte Ecoprint. Marisa is a brilliant artist and generous arts instructor. I took part in silk printing with her and the group done beautiful scarf printing

Host Marisa is so generous
Workshop was taking place in this medieval castle Sala Baganza in Parma. First day was silk scarf printing.
 Participants in the spacious workshop

After delicate layout and steaming for 1.5 hours they made it.
They made silk scarf printing with shades
Students are happy and I'm glad for my involvement.

Another session is my main part of leather printing
With proper mordant and techniques they made the colourful swatches of leather printing.
Just with kinds of weeds and dainty little dried flowers and leaves they made the vibrant color printings.

After the two sessions Marisa and I were taking part in a community centre to introduce botanical printing for a group of special participants.
With our instruction they followed and created nice leather prints

After the session they’re interviewed by a journalist and a press released in local daily paper.

Taiwan teaching and fibre art interaction

Just back from a Taiwan teaching of fibre arts that incl. botanical printing and nuno felting. A fabulous trip with colorful outcome on leather and cotton printing.
A pile of cotton and leather printing with local plants, some from students' own garden.
Such a nice and eye catching printing.
Student made the linen silk printing and the nuno felt vest with one side of botanical printing and the other of raw fleece and merino.  That made it a reversible style fashion.
Shades of lac with iron for the purple tone background

Leather printed with gerbera is striking

The big gerbera is bold and strong
Linen silk is good for eco printing
The two-sided wild look vest is chic

Interaction with artist in Taitung is rewarding. They're pleased with the amazing prints and I'm glad to have a great time with like-minded people.

After Taitung stay I also visited the old streets in fascinating Taipei.

A good time to enjoy. Thank you for my very enthusiastic and talented student who made my fruitful trip .
