Vivid Colours

Just in the past 24 hours those colours around me were amazingly beautiful.
Woke up with the stunning sunrise from host's grand house. Then forwarded to Mt Washington, Paradise Meadow for a trail walk in the woods.
In early fall still warm and sunny but in the further mountains the year round with snow.
It's fresh walking in a sunny day

The evergreens are ever never boring.
The red, the yellow and the wood ....
Looks like alpaca I just visited in Amy's Ontario farm.
The white queen ann lace are still blooming in the cool mountain.
Host Genoa and I have a break by the lake.
While we've a break the bird has to "pick" from Genoa's hand.
That's yesterday Genoa and I walked with her dog Shanti in the BC Vancouver Island. Early this morning at 4am Genoa dropped me off to take the small flight from Comox to Vancouver. Have to say goodbye to my sweet host. My next stop is not my final destination or full stop.
Arriving early in the B&B "White House I already explored the city on my own. Walking in the downtown and along the streets some trees are turning yellow to red, vivid colours.

Vancouver is a liveble city with waterfront and greenery everywhere.

Can you feel the joy?
Well, my "mission" in Canada has not yet completed. Tomorrow will have a social meet up with artists in Granville Island
and explore the cultural and artistic ambiance.

Last glimpse Vancouver 別了溫哥華

Goodbye  "Black & White" in the Vancouver airport inn where I stayed my last night in.
一個滿有情懷北美之行, 白雪紛飛踏上航班, 別了黑白貓, 別了溫哥華.

Before heading home, I spend a couple of days for a last glimpse of Vancouver up to the Grouse Mountain

Up there by the cable car

Lots snow and sunshine
A woman from sub-tropical wrapped from head to toe with wool felt wearable, felt so warm!

The last day way to Granville Island.  On a chilly Sunday, everywhere was quiet.

Granville Island is a unique haven for creativity

Works of feltmaking of wearable pieces are my interest.

Time to go.  Left the heart in the sky......

Goodbye Sharon, my host of the workshops. Hope we cross the path somewhere sometime....

Boarding on the Alaska flight back home via Seattle in a snowy morning, the most beautiful   day I left.......eager to see my....
"Mogi.... are you expecting me?"
My days in North America were fabulous, fun with natural print experiments and got inspired with renowned artists.

Ohio & Michigan visit

,
It was snowing while transit in Minneapolis for my workshop taking place in Ohio.

Arrived artist Pamela A McGregor's studio, the next day I started making a teapot. Pamela's technique of wool felting is unique and inspiring.

After touch up of the stopper. All completed and in the drying.

In the meantime we shared the wonder of natural printing.

With some windfalls of oak, maple, rose, euc.... Natural prints on a silk blouse is done.

We also played with the same leaves on a silk scarf
Shades of green with iron mordant.

A teapot is made in the well organized studio.
The studio with everything in the finger tip
I stayed a few days in the cozy studio. In the sleepless night I read lots of reference books.
The house with lovely cats, one on my lap !
Huge but baby liked poodles
A pig and a horse are the members of the family
After workshop, Pamela and I strolled along the river

Quite winter feel

After teapot making, Pamela was so nice to drive me up to Michigan to meet artists Dawn Edwards and Sue.
Fun to play and interact in my last  24 hours in Michigan.
Also with same sorts of leaves but a little more reddish euc leaves

Dawn makes beautiful hats. She gave me this white one. I wrapped with leaves to boil.

Finished with quite nice prints and color tone.
Next morning breakfast meeting with Suzanne before heading to airport back to Vancouver. Such a nice catch up.

All made in the US. Thanks for Dawn's hospitality.

Thanks for Pamela's teaching and hosting. I made the unique teapot and enjoyed very much her company for the past few days.  Now back to Vancouver for last glimpse of the city. Quite chilly these days.
