Fun share with colleagues 羊毛袋子製作分享

Last week my colleague L. passed by my desk and asked what I’ve been up to. I said same old indulged in wool craft and shown her the little pouch I made. She found it nice and wondering how it’s made. I said we can arrange some time to make one. Today with colleagues we spared the lunch time to join the fun. Due to time constraints, we made only the simple pouch for mobile phones. These are what they’ve made.
They're concentrated in laying wool.

They’re new to wool craft and surprised for the finished form without sewing. Yes, playing wet felt is magical. It's not popularly here in Hong Kong. I do like to promote it. Whenever I've the chance to show off, I'd like to "hard sell" this versatile craft.

3-D nuno felt flower entangled into wool 立體絲花羊毛袋制作

Had been trying to explore how to do 3-D nuno felt flower on wool felt surface, but got no info. Last week when I was in Shamshuipo wholesalers I got some free samples of silk pieces. Eagerly I did some experiments. I thought this is the way to do it though not sure if it's the proper way, it's easy. Love to share with you. This is my pouch with the 3-D nuno felted silk flower and tied with my own handmade ceramic leaf. I love this.

I got these pure silk sample pieces from the wholesaler. A fruitful "free shopping".
I cut the silk pieces, loose stitched it and pulled the thread to make the petal shapes, then put some wool in between.

Laid the wool and put the silk flower on it, then do the same steps of rubbing, fulling.... Success is to do some more throwing, the flower will be entangled firmly.
I'll try to do bags with this technique. Hope you enjoy it and would like give it a go.

Wool felting likes playing magic

Fun to play with wool again. Tonight Eva, Cythie and Joe joined the wet felt class. Before coming they've no idea what wool felting is about and can't imagine how a seamless pouch is made. After laying and fulling, come out the amazing bags. Eva thought that the colors of a picture were finally painted on a wool sheet. After this session she got the idea and interested to do more about felting. We scheduled next week to do needle felt cakes !!
Cythie made a pouch for holding office access card and Joe felted a mobile pouch. She stitched a lead of beads on the dog that looks nice. A session of felting really needs energy. Have to do rubbing, fulling or throwing. A bit tired but fun and a good exercise !!
