"Worry Doll" - worry free purse

My another creation of mixed media purse of story.
A wool felt bag made with wet felt process, enhanced with botanical imprints, a small piece of hemp with embroidery and stitches outlines of leaves.

The purse making took some days to finish.  I enjoyed every step of my creation.

I used Finn and Icelandic wool fleece to make the the purse. Intentionally to leave the space to insert my hemp embroidery
Tried the space for my hand embroidery of hemp.  It fits well.
Then placed the assorted leaves on both sides.  The theme still the Tuscany landscape.  A few casaurina,  rose leaves and eucalyptus.
Bundle boiled for 1.5 hours in turmeric  pot
To bring out the clear outlines I further stitched along the khaki leaves.
The embroidery hemp is my imaginary picture of "Worry Doll & Sheep" - a boy and a girl with two sheep in the field.

Handles with botanical imprints
Cotton lining with two pockets
Both sides of different images
The hemp embroidery of "Worry Doll" I meant it as "worry free" - a person who cannot sleep can express the worries to the dolls.
A purse  for whatever purposes.

One-on-one wool felt purse teaching

Into hot summer but still I have enthusiastic student wanted to learn the wool felt purse making. If time allows I'd like to do one-on-one teaching of wool stuff.  This double-flap shoulder bag with 3D nuno felt flowers and inner pocket all made in one piece done by my student J. I enjoyed personal workshop as I can concentrate on her work and have a nice interaction not only about wool felt, we chatted about our 4-legged pals.

 After layered the enclosed resist......
decorated with my logwood dyed silk strips and ramie.

Such concentrated student (s).... or he - Mogi, the observer....

" Curious Mogi, what do you think?"
Final embellished with logwood dyed silk scraps and silk hankies.

Do the rubbing and rolling....

After some time of "rock n' roll", cut along the top edge for the flaps opening.
Some more rubbing, fulling.......
The finished purse with two flaps, 3D nuno felt flower and the one piece strap handle.
Well done J and Mogi.  You're on time and made the beautiful one-of-a-kind purse.

Thanks for coming J. You made the nice purse with your creativity of flowers.

2-bag, not TOO bad

Two bags made last week just to add more samples of my work.  Both are made with my natural dyed fabric scraps.
The left one flap looks "crackers", yes, intended.  Chain strap detachable for a clutch purse. The right one made "3D texture" look.  Strap and bag made in one piece.
Front and back of "crackers bag" .  Back is decorated with green wool nepps.

Front and back of "3D flap".  Back is with yarn.

Sets of two bags go with my natural printed & dyed scarfs.
Layout of the "crackers bag" - the silk scrap former look with euc leaves prints.  The technique inspired by Heather and learnt in Portugal from Nicola.  The green wool nepps given by Cynthia.  When I was making the bag, I thought of you, my wonderful friends.

Crackers bag with a brooch made with ceramic & wool. Thought it goes well.

My plate is full.  While making the bag, a bundle was boiling.  Time to unwrap and ecstatic to see the outcome of a scarf.

Bags, bags, not too bag......

I've in mind making something with my stitched hemp with a bag.  This one is in a dye pot.  Will it be  yummy?   Stay tuned.

Wool felt eco printed 2-bag, not too bad?

In order to make the striking tie lines on flaps, I felted two purses and dyed the left one in avocado skin, pits + euc leaves and the other one in eucalyptus & barks pot.  Here are two bags, not too bad!?
This purse I made with white wool, a few long fleece and  nuno felted flowers on the top flap and lower bottom.
In the florist I found the silver dollar euc leaves with buds.  Can't resist to buy lots.
I carefully cut the leaves and fixed with thread.
 Rolled up the bundle
Boiled with euc leaves and barks
2 hours of boiling is my limited patience
Opened it.  Ya, striking lines are what I expected.
Braided the silk strips (my not pretty printed fabrics)
 Stitched lining and magnet button
 All finished
Striking marks of the very tight thread ties.  This is done in euc silver dollar + barks pot.
This is done in avacado pot in the first hour but I found it's not so brown as wanted, then put some more euc leaves.  Lines are striking as wished.
A cross shoulder purse is made. The strap is detachable.
 For cosmatics is also good
I'm quite happy to do something from scratch, even the strap is made with strips of fabric that iron dyed.
Two bags, two different tones but same technique.
