Custom order botanical imprinted fabric 特定的植物印染布料

My very sweet client Dawn of Arizona is very supportive to my works. I'm so so blessed to have such a nice lady who has already ordered from me some items. She loves my eco prints and asked if I can make a big curtain  (4 yds) of autumn leaves with red, yellow, khaki, brown, rust  whatever as I usually make for her kitchen..  Honestly I'm not keen to do custom orders as it's quite challenging but Dawn leaves it with me. I said I try to do it into each 2 yds, if it's not up to taste, no worries I can make use of it for other purposes.

So. these days I gathered some windfalls and bought euc silver dollar and rose leave.
With a sketch I put it "fallen leaves on the ground"........ rose leaves, maple, Loropetalum, casaurina, mandarin leaves, euc silver dollar and assorted windfalls on georgette silk...
Casaurina with "nuts" are quite nice prints
Fallen leaves on the ground.......
Air drying ........
close up of the prints, all speak themselves ..... green, khaki, dark, brown, red, orange....... all those are come from leaves pigments, shades with iron mordant, vinegar and alum....

 Brown prints of Loropetalum

Casaurina and the nuts, a few euc silver dollar......
Orange come out of euc with alum mordant
 Strong imprints
 Green from mandarin leaves
Curtain one -  Full size 44" W x 74" L
 Curtain 2 - same size
 Two pieces together
 Color of fall
 Are they ready to ship?
Through my eyes.... my autumn color......
Have a good day.

  1. Are you saying that you get the bolder orange from leaves that are soaked in alum or from fabric that is soaked in alum?

  5. Maybe a challenge, but oh how she must love your work to want you do do such an undertaking. A big project that turned out so pretty, and guess what, she is the only one on this earth to have curtains like that. Anyone who is a nature lover would be thrilled to have them. I think she will be so happy.
