Mogi telling story 說說故事

"What did Mum write on the book?" Mogi queried.
"Ah...... Mum's imagative and always day dreaming."
大自然是創作的靈感, 但地球上資源並非耗之不盡, 有些物料可加點心思, 使其物盡其用, 且聽 Mogi 說 Mum 的 "雲與海".....
"She said this looks like me - fluffy and cheerful.  I'm in cloud nine!"
"The beach near Mum's studio she always shows us something from there ."
"The earthy inspired nuno felt texture of her scarf"

"She made this textural effect with shells."
"Cross over of wool and  the shells picked from the bay."
"Inspired by Heather Woollove's  felted book covers, Mum got the ideas to make one."
 "It's done."

 "Just a piece slip-on."
"Incorporated with a shell, Mum called this 'Cloud &Sea Wave'."

"Original notebook of plastic folder."
"Only one page was used formerly our girl's but discarded".
"A nice covered notebook to use again."
"Mum said 'waste not want not', nature is full of resources."
"Found trees fell down and sawn after typhoon and trunks were going to dispose off."
"Why not carrying it for the wool felt baby hat and booties display?
"Reborn of a tree in Mum's studio."

Thought for food.  Nature is full of resources and inspiration. Something may not be used anymore but can be recycled and treasured.  Waste not want not.

  1. Terriea--How wonderful!! I love the way that you've been incorporating shells lately! This felted one looks a little like a squid or an octopus! Your notebook cover fits perfectly, too! Well done, my friend!! XXO

  2. Terri, love love love the book cover! And the pleated fabric in the felt - how do you get that texture/ruffles in the silk? Just gorgeous. And the tree under the archway is perfect. :-) Thank you again for taking the time to visit my blog, I feel like quite the lesser mortal (felter) when I come visit here! Julie

    1. Thank you Sesenarts. The texture/ruffles in the silk is just squeeze a little to make the wrinkles then put on the layered wool. After some time of rubbing peel or pull off. That's it.

  3. I like the way you cat is looking at your book, he's so gorgeous. Laughed at the cloud, it does look like him a bit!
Maybe if you planted the tree in some soil, it would grow? I'm slowly getting some things together so I can have a go at needling, it seems such a great craft.

  8. How true, I have always said that too, waste not, want not, have always heard that all my life and so I use what I have, and wear it out before I think to buy anything new for myself. I recycle and also compost the peels from veggies and fruits. It makes me happy and I hope it makes the earth happy too. I love your post, Mogi and your clever book cover, the little story you told to show us what is new with you. Have a good week my friend.

  9. Gorgeous. It's always great to see one artist take ideas from another and then put their own stamp on it!
